The SLX M7100 series was developed for those mountain bike enthusiasts who want to explore new paths and - typically Shimano - adapts technologies from the high-end XTR groupset. These innovations include the 12-speed transmission, the Micro Spline and the Hyperglide+, which have already proven their worth in its big brother Deore XT.

Microstriated

The evenly spaced 22-tooth aluminum freewheel holds the reinforced cassette in place for immediate response and allows the use of a 10-tooth sprocket. The smaller and at the same time wider teeth compared to the usual Hyperglide freehub bodies also prevent damage to the rotor.
