Our Verdict
The 100% Aircraft 2 is a high-end helmet that is highly protective and boasts excellent ventilation. This is a true DH helmet and not a slim and minimalist enduro helmet. It can be used for enduro racing, but we are confident calling this a full-on DH helmet. It offers excellent airflow with well-designed vents and a relatively low weight. This helmet runs a carbon fiber shell with dual-density EPS foam. In addition, the SmartShock system uses little rubber pods intended to allow the helmet to rotate slightly in the event of an angled impact. At 40.1 ounces, it is pretty darn light for a full-on DH helmet. Yes, it is expensive, but we feel it is a very well-executed downhill helmet.
